Luigi Barretta obtained a Secondary School Diploma in Electronic Engineering in 2009. He got his Bachelor Degree in Physics at University of Naples 'Federico II' with a thesis entitled 'Simmetrie discrete in Meccanica Quantistica' (in English, 'Discrete Symmetries in Quantum Mechanics'). Three years later, at the same University, he defended a Master Degree thesis in Physics dealing with the teleparallel formulation of the General Relativity and its extensions.
In 2018 Luigi awarded a PhD scholarship financed by STMicroelectronics at University of Naples, in collaboration with the research centre ENEA. The topic of his PhD project is the design, development and characterization of new solid-state devices for the environmental pollutants.
His research area is the electrical and optical characterization in the controlled environment of advanced materials for gas sensing application and pm sensing application.
