In the article the authors highlight the main methodological approaches to assessing the effectiveness of competitive development of enterprises in the face of intensifying competition in the markets caused by the processes of globalization of international economic relations. The presence of a wide range of approaches in domestic and foreign literature made it possible to form their own vision of this problem. Based on the analysis, basic groups of approaches to measuring the effectiveness of competitive development are formed on the basis of comparison of efficiency indicators, comparison of competitive advantages and measurement of competitiveness on the basis of market share. The tools for assessing competitive development at different hierarchical levels of management were considered (macro-level – the competitiveness of the country, meso-level – the competitiveness of the industry, micro-level – the competitiveness of the enterprise). Methodological tools are proposed, which consists in building a matrix of standardized values of partial indicators of competitive development of enterprises in order to rank them according to the integrated indicator of the level of competitiveness of each individual enterprise. Considering the competitive development from the standpoint of the competitiveness of the enterprise, it is established that its strategic priorities are interrelated and determined by the goals of which the company seeks to achieve in the market. It is proposed to pay attention to the trajectories of competitive development, selection of methods and tools for forming a system of competitive development management, a set of strategic relationships, and resource provision of competitive development.

Building on recent insights in exploring material circularity, this study attempts to develop a methodological approach toward allocating an available circularity potential based on modeling the optimal chain of products in a manner that ensures utilizing the same material as many times as possible. The allocation of available circularity potential implies limitations on the use of specific primary materials for manufacturers of certain products by establishing access to the appropriate quality material used previously only for the modeled chain, thereby providing the greatest possible number of turns for a particular material in the economic system. This study adds to the current understanding of methods to maximize material looping in a circular economy by keeping the application range of specific materials as wide as possible, thereby preserving its long-term value. The findings contribute to the operationalization of a recycling strategy justified by its limitations on the use of primary materials for manufacturers of certain products to avoid wastage. Furthermore, the findings present a novel future research agenda for managing circularity potential with regard to continuous build-up and optimal allocation to save the value of material in the system as long as possible by increasing the number of its revolutions.

The relationship between tourism development and economic growth has been a hot topic in the field of tourism economy in recent years, and whether there is a long-term equilibrium relationship between tourism development variables and economic variables (usually GDP) is also a hot topic. By identifying the long-term equilibrium relationship between two variables, we can find the quantitative variation law (generally effect) of one variable with the other. Based on the vector autoregression of the time series data of China's tourism development from 2000 to 2019, it is found that there is a long-term equilibrium relationship between China's tourism foreign exchange income and domestic tourism gross income and their respective GDP, and the long-term effect is 99% respectively. Through the establishment of the VAR model for the development of China's tourism industry and economic growth, in the long run, they have a balanced relationship of mutual promotion, so as to further guide the development of China's tourism.

Efficient electronic waste (e-waste) management is one of the vital strategies to save materials, including critical minerals and precious metals with limited global reserves. The e-waste collection issue has gained increasing attention in recent years, especially in developing countries, due to low collection rates. This study aims to search for progressive solutions in the e-waste collection sphere with close-to-zero transport and infrastructure costs and the minimization of consumers’ efforts towards an enhanced e-waste management efficiency and collection rate. Along these lines, the present paper develops a smart reverse system of e-waste from end-of-life electronics holders to local recycling infrastructures based on intelligent information technology (IT) tools involving local delivery services to collect e-waste and connecting with interactive online maps of users’ requests. This system considers the vehicles of local delivery services as potential mobile collection points that collect and deliver e-waste to a local recycling enterprise with a minimum deviation from the planned routes. Besides e-waste transport and infrastructure costs minimization, the proposed smart e-waste reverse system supports the reduction of CO2 through the optimal deployment of e-waste collection vehicles. The present study also advances a solid rationale for involving local e-waste operators as key stakeholders of the smart e-waste reverse system. Deploying the business model canvas (BMC) toolkit, a business model of the developed system has been built for the case of Sumy city, Ukraine, and discussed in light of recent studies.

Turning from linear to circular business model, from cradle-to-grave to cradle-to-cradle and from waste to wealth, the concept of circular economy (CE) has become an important tool to promote sustainable develop-ment as it combines economic, environmental and social benefits at a local as well as global scale. In the shift towards CE, examining the CE from the perspective of its potential is crucial for its wider and more effective implementation in the practice. The aim of the paper is to clarify a circularity phenomenon in closed-loop econ-omy under the notion of potential in part of (1) the structural elements, (2) underlying categories and (3) basal properties as a follow-up to the previous studies about managing the circularity potential. The study provides the theoretical framework for understanding circularity potential by developing the circularity potential categoriza-tion in order to get a comprehensive picture of what has been done in the past and where efforts are most need today to achieve a progress towards circularity in the future. The basal properties of circularity potential such as integrity, dynamism, territorial affiliation and different strategies compatibility were revealed and discussed for managing the circularity potential. The findings of the paper have ambition to contribute to new metrics devel-opment to measure the progress towards zero-waste and CE aimed at identification and monitoring all the possible forms of the circularity potential – opportunities, reserves, available resources, rather than the available resources only that were primarily considered in the past attempts at the operationalisation of circular economy.

The development of the tourism industry and the development of the country's economy as a whole complement each other, because an increase in the tourist attractiveness of the region and the number of tourists contribute to the development of the corresponding infrastructure - hotels, catering establishments, transport, roads. In addition, related sectors of agriculture and industry receive additional incentives for development. Along with the agriculture, tourism in Ukraine can become an engine of economic growth, because the country is quite interesting for both travelers and foreign investors. The purpose of this study is to assess the state of tourism development in Ukraine and substantiate the need for broader international cooperation in this area based on the use of the capabilities of the Belt and Road Initiative, formerly known as One Belt One Road. To confirm the hypothesis of the research, the authors use the provisions of the international cooperation theory, which is based on three questions: 1) what is the purpose of international cooperation? 2) What are the ways of international cooperation? 3) What is the value of international cooperation? The answers to these questions allowed the authors to substantiate the vision of the successful development of the tourism industry in Ukraine, taking into account its strengths and weaknesses. The priority steps for reforming the tourism industry in Ukraine have been identified. These steps involve state support, improvement and expansion of the range of tourist services, the introduction of modern technologies, and the adoption of the best practices of other countries. Tourism can become an effective tool for the dissemination of Ukrainian culture, economic growth in the country. Tourism will give an opportunity to represent Ukraine to the world, increasing the interest of foreign investors and encourage cooperation in international projects such as Belt and Road Initiative.

The complexity and versatility of the concept of «competitiveness», as well as its consideration at all levels of socio-economic systems requires in-depth analysis of its nature to determine the characteristics of agricultural products, whose exclusive role is related to food security. The purpose of the study is to identify modern areas of ensuring the competitiveness of agricultural products in Ukraine. It is established that the competitiveness should be understood as the ability of a subject to operate successfully in the market, having an absolute or relative advantage over competitors. It is proved that the product competitiveness depends on such factors as: quality, cost, profit, market parameters. «Hard» and «soft» factors of product competitiveness are distinguished. In addition to the above, the following factors or criteria of product competitiveness are considered: social targeting, consumer novelty, informativeness, reliability, safety for consumers and the environment, product image. Features of ensuring the product competitiveness in the agricultural sector are considered. The critical dependence of agricultural specialization on the territory of location is determined, which causes the importance of resource potential, which requires the implementation of measures of responsible land use, which is an ecological component of the competitiveness of agricultural products. The peculiarity of providing labor resources to agricultural enterprises requires the inclusion social aspects in the concept of product competitiveness management. Thus, the priority of sustainable development of agricultural enterprises to ensure the competitiveness of agricultural products is determined. The dependence of the competitiveness of agricultural products on the price factor is considered, which is characterized by significant volatility and the influence of global trends. Ways to manage this factor are proposed: to consider the development of commodity exchanges, the use of financial instruments, risk insurance. Horizontal integration for small farms and vertical integration for agricultural enterprises are recognized as additional ways to ensure the competitiveness of agricultural products. Key words: competitiveness, product competitiveness, agricultural enterprises, agricultural products, quality, cost, price.

Consumer electronics are made of a wide range of materials, including precious metals and critical minerals with limited global reserves. Ensuring the recycling of these materials is essential for future use, especially since many renewable energy solutions are based on them. In addition, improper end-of-life treatments of these products cause harm to the environment and human health. This study explores the incentives that have been used to increase consumer collection rates for end-of-life electrical and electronic equipment (EoL EEE). Based on extensive global literature reviews, we propose an alternative to existing consumer incentives. The research suggests that implementing an economic incentive based on the electronic bonus card system (EBCS) has several benefits compared to existing incentives. It compensates the consumers for the transaction costs of proper collection and satisfies the consumer perception of EoL EEE as having a residual value. However, application of the EBCS motivation technology will require the cooperation of various stakeholders, including electronics producers and national and international authorities.

The paper substantiates the idea that it is impossible to achieve sustainability of agriculture in Ukraine without appropriate institutional changes in the economic culture of rural community members. Introducing the philosophy of sustainable development to the rural communities' everyday activities may be an impetus for such institutional changes. This hypothesis is substantiated on the analysis of the joint international project by EU and UNDP in Ukraine named 'Community-Based Approach to Local Development', which provided training on sustainable development philosophy and principles of sustainable development for the rural population. The influence of rural communities' participation in the project on the performance of agricultural sustainability was analysed. The results of the research give evidence of a positive and significant impact of communities' involvement in the project on indicators of sustainable agriculture. A conclusion that sustainable agriculture is closer to collectivism than to individualism is made in the paper.
