With a Ph.D. in Materials Science & Engineering, Mònica Ardanuy is currently a full professor and head of the Textile Engineering Section of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya-UPC) and of the Textile Technology Research Group- TECTEX. Her focus of research is the development of textile recycling, sustainable fiber-reinforced cement-based composites, and functional textiles. Prof. Ardanuy has more than 70 SCI-indexed publications and is a co-author of two patents and various books and book chapters. She is the scientific coordinator in various Spanish & European projects. Since 2002, she has been teaching textile engineering courses at undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels at UPC and in other European and Chinese universities.
