Cristina Barrado is an associate professor in the Computer Architecture Department at UPC Barcelona-Tech University, Spain. Cristina received her PhD degree in Computer Science at UPC in 1997 and has been working there ever since. Currently she is a member of the ICARUS Research Group, and her research interests are unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and remote piloted aircraft systems (RPAS), where she has made contributions in avionics, architecture, civilian use cases, public acceptance, and integration into the airspace. Previously, she worked in parallelization, compiling, operating systems, and embedded systems. She is a member of EUROCAE and of the U-Space Coordination Cell (UCC). Cristina holds a Silver Medal by UPC and several awards for best paper at conferences and journals.
