Resource-dependent countries and economies are found to be particularly sensitive to global shocks. A unifying parallel is drawn between resource-dependent countries and regions with depleted mineral resources. The objective factors of losses of accessed reserves are analyzed. A unifying parallel is drawn between sub-standard ores and industrial waste. The paper proposes shifting geotechnology development from simple mineral extraction towards technologies that provide a full cycle of geo-resources development. A radical way of ensuring a full cycle of geo-resources development is the involvement of sub-standard ores and industrial waste in a closed processing cycle. The utilization of industrial waste without a valuable component extracting or reducing a harmful component to a background value is palliative. A comparative description of various technologies that allow extracting valuable components from sub-standard ores and industrial waste is made. The paper proposes a variant of chemical–physical technology that makes it possible to extract a valuable component from industrial waste to a minimum value. The activation of industrial waste with a disintegrator before a chemical extraction significantly increases the yield of a valuable component from 2.6 to 218.5%. A differentiated approach is needed regarding the choice of leaching solution, its percentage, as well as the leaching method and the need for activation processing of valuable components and industrial ones. The combined highly efficient physical–chemical and physical–technical technologies will ensure the maximum extraction of the valuable component from 52.6 to 98.8% in the full cycle of natural and industrial geo-resources development.
The concept of “life cycle” is used by an organization to plan a certain sequence of changes in the current state and maintain its position in the market in the future. In the theory of the life cycle of the organization’s position in the market, it is emphasized that the development of an enterprise occurs according to an algorithm common to all organizations. However, the issues of manifestation of life cycle stages in a changing economy are ambiguous. There are no clearly established and regulated values of indicators that guarantee the maintenance of the position of organizations at the stages of their existence. The aim of the study is to substantiate the methodology for determining the stage of the life cycle of an organization for the development or adjustment of the strategic policy of its development. The study revealed that the assessment of the organization’s potential is carried out on the basis of groups of indicators and factor coefficients established and recommended for use in Russian and international practice. As a result of the study, it was proposed to use the factorial integral indicator of the economic assessment of the enterprise, which allows the current position of the enterprise in the current economic situation and planning its activities in the future.
This study analyzes the approach towards educational process organization at a university. We study existing practices of educational program personalization (and the relevant existing limitations) in the Russian system of university-level education. This study reviewed the general trends in university program personalization and performed an in-depth analysis of actual cases of personalized study plan implementation at Russian universities (we compared the declared objectives of such programs with their real-life implementation results). In this article, the authors also highlight the limitations affecting the maximum attainable level of personalization of study programs (such as the minimum number of students enrolled in a course in a given semester, problems of resource reallocation between different chairs at the university and administration costs of digitalization of a personalized study process). Based on our research, a model of study process organization (based on multitrack educational programs) has been developed and implemented. The article describes an algorithm for implementation of multitrack educational programs, highlights the limitations that this model of educational process complies with and formulates the advantages of this approach towards organization of the university-level study process compared to models employing individual educational trajectories.
Discussion of the effectiveness of distance learning as a means of delivering higher education programs at classical universities has been ongoing for the past decade. The article presents the findings of a study of changes in academic performance of university students, covering the period from fall 2018 to fall 2023. This period included a rapid switch to online learning at Russian universities. Our study is based on a large dataset generated through the erp system of the national university of science and technology misis (nust misis). The dataset contains over 600,000 students’ academic performance entries covering every subject and practical class, including the final assessments. In addition to the abovementioned dataset, the study also used a database of students’ unified state examination (use) results. The results of use exams (taken during the final year of high school) determine the applicant’s eligibility for admission to university programs. We evaluate the impact of an individual student’s use results on their future academic performance at the undergraduate level. The study also analyzes the overall readiness of a university for distance learning at the time of the covid-19 pandemic outbreak. Excel pivot tables were used as a statistical analysis tool; shewhart charts were employed to analyze the academic performance trends. Our analysis confirmed the initial hypothesis—that there exists a potential negative impact of online learning on the academic performance of university students. The use of big data in learning analytics enhances the reliability of the results to the greatest extent possible.
Unpredictable abrupt changes in the external environment of the education ecosystem have necessitated the introduction of distance and mixed learning formats into practice and the transformation of forms of interaction between students and teachers. The high quality of students' training in higher education institutions has recently been ensured thanks to the implementation of online courses and the organization of mixed forms of education based on them, which involve remote work to familiarize students with theoretical material by performing skill-oriented tasks remotely, face-to-face seminars and final control of the development of academic disciplines. The subject of the article is a methodological approach to the organization of learning processes taking into account the challenges of the external environment and internal restructuring based on the integration of modern pedagogical teaching methods and technological solutions in order to form a new generation of human capital. The purpose of the work is to substantiate the construction of an integrated design—problem approach in conditions of mixed learning using LMS Canvas as a tool to improve the quality of training of a new generation of human capital. The conceptual foundations of designing the implementation of students' research work in a mixed learning format as an element of professional training of human capital are considered. The conclusions are made that the active inclusion of students in the modern process of the knowledge economy brings them to a high level of responsibility and strict compliance with deadlines for individual stages of work.
