With the wide application of Internet-of-Medical-Things (IoMTs) or sensor nodes which equipped with sensors. These networked sensors are used to gather enormous data from different smart healthcare applications, and this collected data process for making appropriate decisions. Edge computing is an efficient platform that provides computational resources to collect sensor data. In the meantime, intelligent and accurate resource management by Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become the center of attention, especially in healthcare systems. With the help of AI, IoMT based healthcare devices will remarkably enhance the computational speed and range. But the challenging issue in these energy-hungry, short battery life, and delay intolerant portable devices is inappropriate and inefficient classical trends of fair resource allotment. Thus, this paper proposes Computation Offloading using Reinforcement Learning (CORL) scheme to minimize latency and energy consumption. We first formulate the problem as a combined latency and energy cost minimization problem, satisfying the lack of limited battery capacity and service latency deadline constraints. Moreover, proposed algorithm search optimal available resources node to offload task towards the trade-off between energy and latency. The experimental results show the benefits of the proposed scheme in terms of saving energy, minimizing latency, and maximum utilization of node resources in edge-enabled sensor networks. We are using an iFogSim simulator to validate the proposed scheme under realistic assumptions.
The growing use of IoT has brought enormous safety issues that constantly demand stronger hide from increasing risks of intrusions. This paper proposes an Advanced LSTM-CNN Secure Framework to optimize real-time intrusion detection in the IoT context. It adds LSTM layers, which allow for temporal dependencies to be learned, and CNN layers to decompose spatial features which makes this model efficient in identifying threats. It is important to note that the used BoT-IoT dataset involves various cyber attack typologies like DDoS, botnet, reconnaissance, and data exfiltration. These outcomes present that the proposed LSTM-CNN model has 99.87% accuracy, 99.89% precision, and 99.85% recall with a low false positive rate of 0.13% and exceeds CNN, RNN, Standard LSTM, BiLSTM, GRU deep learning models. In addition, the model has 90.2% accuracy in conditions of adversarial attack proving that the model is robust and can be used for practical purposes. Based on feature importance analysis using SHAP, the work finds that packet size, connection duration, and protocol type should be the possible indicators for threat detection. These outcomes suggest that the Hybrid LSTM-CNN model could be useful in improving the security of IoT devices to provide increased reliability with low false alarm rates.
Billions of IoT devices increasingly function as gateways to cloud infrastructures, making them an inevitable target of cyber threats because of the limited resources and low processing capabilities of IoT devices. This paper proposes a lightweight decision tree-based intrusion detection framework suitable for real-time anomaly detection in a resource-constrained IoT environment. Finally, the model also makes use of a novel leaf-cut feature optimization strategy and tight adaptive cloud edge intelligence to achieve high accuracy while minimizing memory and computation demand. In terms of memory, they also use only 12.5 MB in it and evaluated on benchmark datasets including NSL-KDD and Bot-IoT, it gives an accuracy of 98.2% and 97.9%, respectively, and less than 1% false positives, thereby giving up to 6.8% accuracy over some traditional models such as SVM and Neural Networks and up to 78% less energy. It is deployed on Raspberry Pi nodes and can do real-time inference in less than 1 ms and 1,250 samples/sec. Due to the energy efficient, scalable, and interpretable architecture of the proposed solution, it can be implemented as a security solution for IoT use cases in Smart cities, industrial automation, health care, and autonomous vehicles.
The increasing interest from technology enthusiasts and organisational practitioners in big data applications in the supply chain has encouraged us to review recent research development. This paper proposes a systematic literature review to explore the available peer-reviewed literature on how big data is widely optimised and managed within the supply chain management context. Although big data applications in supply chain management appear to be often studied and reported in the literature, different angles of big data optimisation and management technologies in the supply chain are not clearly identified. This paper adopts the explanatory literature review involving bibliometric analysis as the primary research method to answer two research questions, namely: (1) How to optimise big data in supply chain management? and (2) What tools are most used to manage big data in supply chain management? A total of thirty-seven related papers are reviewed to answer the two research questions using the content analysis method. The paper also reveals some research gaps that lead to prospective future research directions.
