Joydeep Dutta is professor in functional materials at KTH focusing on sustainable engineering solutions with functional materials in water desalination and Green hydrogen production.
A career spanning a little over 30 years, with a year each in Japan and France, a decade in Switzerland (EPFL) and another decade at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Thailand where he was Professor and vice president. Prior to moving to KTH in 2015, he was the Chair in Nanotechnology at Sultan Qaboos University in Oman for four years.
Prof. Dutta is an award-winning author (Choice award for Outstanding Academic title of 2010 from American Library Association). He has written 3 Text books, edited 3 research book, contributed 14 Book Chapters and obtained 10 patents. He has published 300+ original research publications, that has received 20,000+ citations (h-index 73), and has delivered over 100 invited and keynote lectures. He is in the editorial board of a few journals and regularly referees articles in international journals.
Prof. Dutta has spun off four deep-tech companies, Stockholmwater AB (2018), Caplyzer AB (2021), Kitocoat AB (2022) and HyEnGen AB (2023), all based in Stockholm Sweden.
