Carlos M. Travieso-González received his MSc in 1997 in Telecommunication Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), Spain, and his PhD in 2002 from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), Spain. He is a Full Professor of Signal Processing and Pattern Recognition and Head of the Signals and Communications Department at ULPGC, where he has been teaching signal processing and learning theory since 2001. He has research in 52 international and Spanish research projects, some of them as Head Researcher. He is the co-author of 4 books, co-editor of 24 Proceedings books, and Guest Editor for 8 JCR-ISI international journals and up to 24 book chapters. He has published more than 460 papers in international journals, conferences, and as book chapters (83 indexed on JCR, ISI and Web of Science). He has published seven patents in the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office and supervised 9 PhD and 140 Master's theses. He is a founder of the IEEE IWOBI conference series and President of its Steering Committee, of the InnoEducaTIC conference series, and of the APPIS conference series. He is an evaluator of project proposals for the European Union (H2020 and Horizon Europe), Medical Research Council (MRC, UK), Spanish Government (ANECA, Spain), National Research Agency (ANR, France), DAAD (Germany), and Argentinian Government and Colombian Institutions. He has been reviewed in different indexed international journals (<75) and conferences (<270) since 2001.
