Prof. Dr. Jesús B. Alonso-Hernández received a
Telecommunication Engineer Degree in 2001 and a Ph.D. Degree in 2006 from the
University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), Spain, where he is a Full
Professor in the Department of Signal and Communications. He is the Head of the
Institute for Technological Development and Innovation in Communications
(IDeTIC) at ULPGC. He has numerous papers published in international journals,
international conferences, and holds various patents. His research interests include
signal processing in biocomputing, biometrics, nonlinear signal processing,
recognition systems, audio characterization, and data mining. He has been a
guest editor for different special issues of journals such as cognitive
computation, neurocomputing, and applied sciences.
