David L. Sales, Associate Professor at Universidad de Cádiz (Spain), holds an MSci in Chemical Engineering from Universidad de Cádiz and the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, and a PhD in Materials Science (2008). He has completed research visits to prestigious institutions, including Technische Universität (Antwerp, Belgium), Oak Ridge National Laboratory (TN, USA), University of Cambridge (UK), and the University of Malta. As a senior lecturer at Algeciras School of Engineering and Technology, he teaches Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering. His research focuses on electron nanoscopies of semiconducting materials, (nano)materials synthesis and characterization, stainless steel, and materials for additive manufacturing. He is a co-author of two patents and over 50 papers published in high-impact factor journals. Currently, his work emphasizes circular economy strategies, low-nickel stainless steel alloys, and advanced materials for additive manufacturing. He heads the 'Smart Manufacturing Lab' at the ‘UCA-SEA Innovation Center’ in Algeciras. Dr. Sales also actively reviews for international journals, has organized multiple international workshops and congresses, and won the 'Excellent Student Paper' award from the University of Sheffield (2007).
