Xiaohong Wang, professor, supervisor of the master and doctoral degree students, founder and Director of the Center of Organ Manufacturing, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Tsinghua University, as well as the School of Intelligent Medicine, China Medical University (CMU); awarded by the Tekes in 2011 through the Finland Distinguished Professor program (FiDiPro, 2010-2013); has undertaken interdisciplinary studies from biology, chemistry, materials, engineering, manufacture and medicine for more than 20 years; created several series of fully automated and semi-automated bioartificial organ manufacturing technologies; solved all the bottleneck problems encountered by tissue engineers, biomaterial researchers, pharmacists and other scientists for more than several decades; published more than 140 articles, with more than 110 of them in the list of Science Citation Index (SCI) (one in Trends in Biotechnologies, impact factor: 19.536, six in Biomaterials, impact factor: 12.479, two in the Journal of Nanobiotechnology, impact factor: 10.435); published one book “Organ Manufacturing” in 2015; applied more than 60 international or national patents; is a member of more than 10 international journals and a peer reviewer for more than 20 refereed journals; and chaired/co-chaired a series of biomodeling and biomanufacturing related sessions in many international conferences.
