James Jin Kang is currently an Associate Professor teaching cybersecurity and medical health informatics at National Taiwan University and an Adjunct Lecturer teaching computer and security at Edith Cowan University. He has worked in areas including health informatics, IoT, cybersecurity, smart environment, and disaster recovery using smart sensors and smart objects, as well as for 25 years in the telecommunications industry, with projects at Spark NZ, Nokia (Alcatel-Lucent), NBN Co, Telstra, Siemens, and Vodafone Australia. He specialised in Network Intelligence for wired and mobile networks earlier in his career, and later worked on career networks, such as IP, IMS, NBN, and VoIP technologies. He recently went to Africa as a volunteer IT advisor sponsored by the Australian government DFAT.
