Xuemin Chen received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Control Engineering from the Nanjing University of Science and Technology, China in 1985, 1988, and 1991, respectively. He joined Texas Southern University (TSU) in 2006. Currently, he is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the Department of Engineering at TSU. His research interests are in cyber-physical systems, machine learning, virtual and remote laboratory, information security, and structural health monitoring. He established the Virtual and Remote Laboratory at TSU, and he has served as the founding director of the VR-Lab since 2008. He is a senior member of IEEE.
