Farag Ibraheem currently works at the Department of Biology and chemistry, Umm Al-Qura University. He is also affiliated with Botany department, Faculty of Science, Mansoura University, Egypt. Farag does research in molecular plant physiology, nutrients use efficiency, salt and drought tolerance, and secondary plant metabolism. Their current projects are (1) Nitrogen use efficiency in maize, (2) Tissue culture-induced genetic and physiological changes, and (3) Molecular mechanisms of salt tolerance in rice and Saudi halophytes.
