Dr. Ying Huang received a BS in civil engineering from Guangzhou University, China, an MS in civil engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology, China, and a PhD in civil engineering from Missouri University of Science & Technology. She is currently a Professor of Civil Engineering and the Welch Faculty Fellow Professor at North Dakota State University (NDSU). She is also a member of AI SUSTEIN Center. Her research interests include smart cities and autonomous systems; artificial intelligence and Big Data; energy networks and pipelines; advanced, high-performance, and smart materials; corrosion protection and mitigation; intelligent transportation systems; pavement and traffic monitoring; structural health monitoring; railroad damage and defect assessment; wildfire and natural hazard detection; and assessment and emergency evacuation for multi-hazards.
