Mauro Caccavale is a researcher at the National Research Council of Italy (CNR, ISMAR, Naples, Italy) and an associate researcher at the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) - Section Osservatorio Vesuviano, Naples, Italy, a prestigious institution in the field of the monitoring of active volcanoes and earthquakes. He has a Degree in Physics and a PhD in Seismology from the University Federico II of Naples (Prof. Aldo Zollo). He has actively participated in several research projects, including the PON MONICA, dealing with the monitoring of active coastal cliffs of the Phlegrean area. He is also an artist and a photographer.
