Miquel Angel Piera received a degree (Hons.) in Computer Engineering from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain, in 1988; an MS in Control Engineering from the University of Manchester, Institute of Science and Technology, Manchester, England, in 1991, and a PhD from the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 1993. He was a Deputy Director of the Autonomous University of Barcelona Engineering School and a Director of LogiSim (Research Group on Modeling and Simulation of Complex Systems). He is a delegate for the Technical Innovation Cluster with the Autonomous University of Barcelona, where he is currently a full-time professor with the System Engineering Department. He is also active in the innovation sector, contributing as the scientific advisor to the ASLOGIC Company.
