Sai Sathish Ramamurthy is an avid and enthusiastic scientist with a keen focus on socially oriented translational research and convergent technologies. He is an Adjunct faculty at Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning. He obtained his Bachelor of Science (Honors) degree followed by a Master in Chemistry from the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (SSSIHL), India. He completed his Ph.D. in Analytical and Environmental Research from SSSIHL in 2007. Following this he served as a Research Assistant Professor at the Center for Advanced Sensor Technology, Technology Research Center, University of Maryland Baltimore County, MD, USA from 2008–2010. He was awarded the prestigious DBT-Ramalingaswamy fellowship by Govt. of India, which aided his return to his alma mater and undertaking research in Plasmonics with a specific focus on clinical, biomarker sensing applications. He has established and led the plasmonics research at the Surface plasmon-based Translational and Advanced Research (STAR) Laboratory, which undertakes analytical and clinical studies towards medical technology development and implemented multiple clinical trials oriented to integrated health management in addition to technology development based on plasmonics, electrochemistry, bioprocessing, and luminescence techniques.
