Prof. Dr. Hab. Eng. Janusz Gajda obtained his master's degree, doctoral degree, postdoctoral degree and the title of professor in 1978, 1985, 1993 and 2001 respectively in the field of engineering and technical sciences, in the discipline of electrical engineering. He is currently employed as a professor at the Department of Metrology and Electronics of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow.
His areas of interest include: electrical and electronic metrology, object identification, signal processing, road traffic parameter measurements and biomedical measurements. He is the author of over 250 scientific publications, including 7 books and 5 patents. He has supervised 5 PhDs.
In the years 1999-2016 he headed the Department of Metrology and Electronics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering of the AGH University of Science and Technology. In the years 2016-2024 he was the Vice-Dean for Science at this Faculty. In the years 2007-2023 he was a member of the Committee of Metrology and Scientific Equipment of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and in the years 2016-2023 the chairman of this Committee. Currently, since 2017 he has been a member of the Metrology Council at the President of the Central Office of Measures. Since 2008 he has been a member of the International Society of Weight In Motion.
