Kazim Sahin graduated from the Ankara University Veterinary Faculty in 1990 and is a professor of nutrition at the Department of Nutrition at Firat University. He is a principal member of the Turkish Academy of Sciences. He is also the Chair of the Food, Nutrition, and Health Working Group of the Turkish Academy of Sciences. He is also a diplomat of the European College of Poultry Veterinary Science. He has been actively involved in international research projects and conferences along with renowned scientists throughout the world, including the USA, Germany, Austria, Poland, and Belgium. He was awarded a “Scientific Award” by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) in 2019 in the field of health for his “internationally superior studies on the determination of target-based molecular nutrition strategies in the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases”. His research focuses mainly on vitamin and mineral metabolism, cancer, and stress prevention. He has international patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). He has served as a chairman of various organizing committees and has memberships in many international congresses.
