Purpose: Green Sukuk (GS) is a recent innovation that has the potential to serve humankind in sustainable development. However, its potential can only be achieved if the proceeds of GS are used for the priority areas needed. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to find out, using selected GS issued to determine whether the proceeds of GS are actually given to the needed areas.Design/methodology/approach: This is qualitative research utilizing case studies where the “priorities given” areas are observed through information collected from the library that consists of primary and secondary sources, such as statutes, books, articles and internet sources, while “priorities needed to issue GS” areas are determined through information collected from Al-Quran and Hadiths to derive conclusions.Findings: The outcome of this study reveals some untouched areas that needed immediate attention where GS can be implemented. This study recommends implementing GS for the plant, agriculture, forests, road, water, animal and others. One example in this regard is to create “forest sukuk,” which is a tool for financing forest preservation.Originality/value: It is anticipated that, via the outcome of this research, GS issuance frameworks can be enhanced, especially in revising the areas in which Sukuk proceeds can be used, and it will provide guidance to the potential GS issuers to choose financing projects.

Globally, we face a rapid double growth of the ageing population that urges an integrated framework plan by connecting the health and social care disciplines as a shared and continuum of care approach. Bridging the gap between health and social care is required to meet the demand of ageing population needs, the readiness of the stakeholders, and community as a holistic approach. This article provides an overview of the evidence gap between social care and healthcare through a scoping review. Articles retrieved related to social and health care for older adults in the Asia region were identified through a compilation of PubMed, SAGE, Springer, and Google Scholar searches between the years 2015 to 2021. Only twelve articles were used for result generation. The majority highlights the constraint on financial support, issues related to culture, human resource competency and community participation. The systematic review of the current work provides valuable insight for future researchers and policymakers in designing sustainable development integrated long term care (LTC) framework models and plans.

In this decade, the entire world realized that a healthy environment is needed for mitigating catastrophic issues created by the nature. Thus, the green bond was introduced in 2007, and the green Sukuk was issued in 2017. Malaysia took the pioneering role for issuing green Sukuk and issued ten green Sukuk within 2020. Furthermore, Indonesia has taken initiative for issuing five green Sukuk in 2018. Besides that, Saudi Arabia issued two green Sukuk and the United Arab Emirates also issued two green Sukuk in 2019. As the green Sukuk was issued in various sectors which created a curiosity to know, what are the policies were created, how did they apply and how do they impact on the environment. Accordingly, the study aims to find out implemented policies to mitigate challenges for issuing all green Sukuk in four nations. So, this study was conducted through case studies on green Sukuk by analysing available data from the green Sukuk issuers, ministries, published literature and others. The study found that green Sukuk issuers were implemented the same policies that applied to issue green bonds and still remain a great challenge. It is because, every nation has a different geographical atmosphere, culture, religion and human behaviours. In addition, the study also found that all of the green Sukuk-issued projects were selected to reduce air pollution. Therefore, further research is needed on policy and project creation according to the nation for controlling other factors, such as; pollution (water, land, and sound), deforestation, and others.

Family communication often becomes an important discourse in the discussion on family function as one of an entity in our society. Parents are the pillars in providing a good environment in the family. Communication among family members and siblings is also found affecting the decision-making process and clear communication between parents and child can bring them to a very positive and effective interaction. McLeod and Chaffee (1972) formulated the quadrant family communication pattern framework namely, permissive, pluralistic, prohibitive and protective. Applying this framework, this study aimed to identify patterns of family communication between parents and their children in the choice of a life partner. Using a survey method, questionnaires were distributed to 400 respondents throughout Peninsular Malaysia and analyzed using Statistical Packages for Social Science (SPSS) version 23. The mean analysis was performed to identify the most dominant family communication patterns when discussing marriage matters. The study found that protective family communication pattern showed the highest level of practice among all communication patterns and have proven to be a significant contributor for Malaysian youth on their decisions towards marriage and life partner choices. The results from this study contribute to the understanding of the importance of communication among family in the decision making with regards to marriage. The present study adds to the existing knowledge on the importance of communication among family members and provides direction for future research work in this area. Keywords: Family communication, pattern, youth, marriage, protective family.

A waqf is a charitable perpetual property whose interest and usufruct can be extracted without consuming the property itself. Malaysia has grown enormous waqf assets. Nonetheless, the potential is not fully utilized because of the difficulty in terms of management. The aim of this paper is to propose a model based on two social entrepreneurship angles which are creating sustainable business ventures and innovating products that could effectively optimize underutilized waqf lands in Malaysia. This qualitative research applies secondary data collected from scientific directory analysis and library research including papers and precedents on waqf. A Comparative approach was used to correlate analogous model that is currently practised in Indonesia. The data was then analyzed using legal and historical interpretation to determine the model's commercial viability. These findings suggest an equity crowdfunding platform as an innovative method to optimize underutilized waqf assets. In order to measure the desirability and perceived feasibility among contributors in Malaysia of this model, a theory of planned behavior was suggested. Since social entrepreneurship necessitates innovative products and profits, the researcher believes that using equity crowdfunding to create a new waqf model could potentially generate continuous income and wealth for the benefit of the country.
