Cátia Leitão is a MSc in Biomedical Engineering (2010) and received the Ph.D. degree in 2017. Currently, she is a researcher for the Nanophotonics and Optoelectronics group at i3N at the Physics Department of the University of Aveiro and is also a collaborator at the Telecommunications Institute. Her research interests include optical and fiber optic biosensors for biomedical applications, namely for cardiovascular prevention, by monitoring different physical and biochemical parameters. Other areas of investigation are clinical studies of the prognostic value of arterial stiffness in resistant hypertension and after myocardial infarction.
