Dr. Katrin Schmitt pursued her studies in physics at the Julius-Maximilians-University Würzburg and the University of Texas in Austin, USA, from 1999 to 2003. She completed her Ph.D. at the University of Strasbourg, France, in 2006, and has since been actively involved in research at the Fraunhofer Institute for Physical Measurement Techniques (IPM) in Freiburg. In 2018, she assumed the role of group leader at the Institute for Microsystems Engineering at the University of Freiburg, where she continues to contribute to advancements in the field.
