Mohamed Abboud was born in Casablanca, Morocco in 1980. He graduated from the Department of Chemistry, Lorraine University in 2011 and received MSc in chemistry in 2007. He joined the research group of Prof. Yves Fort at college of science and technology, Nancy, and received his Ph.D. degree in 2011 from Lorraine University. In 2012 he joined Prof. Sayari research group in the Center of Catalysis Research and Innovation (CCRI), at the University of Ottawa (Ottawa, Canada). Currently, he is working as an associate professor of organic chemistry and nanomaterials in the department of chemistry at King Khalid University (KKU) (Abha, KSA) since 2016.
