Sébastien Poncet (ing., PhD, HDR) is currently full professor in the mechanical engineering department of UDS and has held the NSERC chair in industrial energy efficiency supported by Hydro-Québec, Natural Resources Canada and Copeland Canada Inc. since 2014. He directs the Laboratoire de Mécanique des Fluides, Thermique et Énergétique de l’Université de Sherbrooke (https://lmfteus.wordpress.com/), focusing mainly on the advanced numerical modeling of fluid flow and heat transfer in various energy systems (heat pump, refrigeration, renewable energy and energy storage). Part of his research includes the experimental characterization of the thermophysical properties of complex materials, such as slurries, nanofluids and phase-change materials. Prof. Poncet is the author or co-author of more than 160 publications in peer-reviewed international journals.
