Rene Buchet is a Full Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Lyon. He got his MSc degree at the University of Geneva in 1980 and completed his PhD studies in Chemistry at the University of Montreal in 1985, respectively. He was a post-doctoral fellow at the School of Medicine, University of Alabama (1986–1987), an Assistant Professor at the State University of New York Upstate Medical University (1987–1991), and a researcher at the ETH Zurich (1992–1993). His current research interests include bone biology, extracellular vesicles, and vascular calcification. He has 127 publications with 3246 citations and an h-index of 28 (Scopus, 21 November 2023).
