Rene Buchet is a scientific consultant. He is retired from University Claude Bernard Lyon 1 . He obtained his MSc degree at the University of Geneva in 1980 and completed his PhD studies in Chemistry at the University of Montreal in 1985, respectively. He was a post-doctoral fellow at the School of Medicine, University of Alabama (1986–1987), an Assistant Professor at the State University of New York Upstate Medical University (1987–1991), and a researcher at the ETH Zurich (1992–1993). From 1993 to 2021, he was professor of biochemistry at University Claude Bernard Lyon. His current research interests include bone biology, extracellular vesicles, and vascular calcification. He has 139 publications with 3720 citations and an h-index of 29 (Scopus, June 2025).
