The COVID-19 pandemic has challenged the need to rethink, revision, and modify the sustainable development goals since changes have never been so unpredictable in terms of future events. While material welfare has long been identified and given attention, the pandemic has demonstrated the importance of health security and socio-psychological well-being. The aim of this article is to identify the young generation’s perception of environmental problems and sustainable development goals in the context of quality of life. In January 2022, we conducted an online survey (CAWI) among 120 young adults aged 21–28, who were asked, i.a., to assess current ecological threats, economic security, and social problems and to reevaluate the goals of sustainable development. One of the general conclusions is that global threats are more important for young people than local ones, and future threats are more important than the present ones. The results indicate a high awareness and sensitivity among the young generation to the important elements of the sustainable development goals, particularly regarding the elimination of hunger, the access to potable water, and providing education in the global dimension. The research results reflect the expectations of the young generation regarding the implementation of sustainable development goals, especially concerning environmental and social aspects.

This study analyzed 350 companies based in the Śląskie Province that received financial aid to avoid the negative impacts of COVID-19. This study focused on the structure of companies receiving public support due to their business being at risk of negative impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic in terms of the amount and type of support. It also classified industries by the amount of subsidy. When analyzing the available data, the Kruskal–Wallis test was applied, which is a nonparametric equivalent of the one-way analysis of variance. It was used to test whether the selected factors significantly affect the values of individual measures. Although the amounts of subsidies received vary, they have contributed to preserving at-risk jobs due to the public health crisis and maintaining the competitiveness of affected micro-, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Dyskusja założeń i interpretacji koncepcji zrównoważonego rozwoju na poziomie makro- i mikroekonomicznym umożliwiła identyfikację celów i kryteriów oceny zrównoważonego rozwoju przedsiębiorstw. Ewaluacja celów i dokonań zrównoważonego rozwoju przedsiębiorstw pozwala uznać go, za paradygmat współczesnego zarządzania.

Digital transformation through innovative and technological development is important for economic growth and competitiveness. Digitization also influences the development of the information society. As research shows, the subject of interest in modern society is sustainable development. The aim of the article is to identify the role of digitalization in the implementation of sustainable development in the context of stakeholders. The analysis showed that the implementation of sustainable development goals is particularly important for stakeholders who, in the era of digitalization, have much greater access to information. In turn, by disclosing the results of implementing sustainable development goals, companies can build long-term relationships with customers, local communities and other stakeholder groups, creating the basis for the future of business development.

The Eastern Partnership (EaP) was launched in 2009 to strengthen institutional, economic and political relations between the European Union (EU) and the six Partnership countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine). Further, the adoption of the European Green Deal (EGD) for these countries can be seen as a turning point in policymaking, as well as an indication that the Green Deal will become a guide to transforming the economy and making it more sustainable. This book presents an innovative, geopolitical, multidimensional survey of EaP-EU relations and the future of Europe. It analyses the situation of the Partnership countries in the context of sustainable development and explores the historical and strategic context of the integration of the Green Deal and its impact on the development of Europe. It examines the necessary conditions for the operation of the EGD in the countries of the EaP and examines the influence of geopolitical conflicts and their impact on the implementation of the EGD in the region. The book studies the political, economic, socio-demographic dimensions of geopolitics and their effect on EGD implementation in the Partnership and finally, identifies and evaluates the key challenges, and features a comparative analysis of the European Green Deal and similar environmental initiatives in other parts of the world. Such an approach helps place European efforts in a global context. This is a valuable reference for students, scholars and researchers of economics, politics, geography, history, European studies, international relations, and environmental policy. Policymakers at the European, regional, and local government level will benefit from the book's policy recommendations and comprehensive insights. <!----> <!----> <!----> <!---->

Zainteresowanie przedsiębiorstw społeczną odpowiedzialnością w ostatnim czasie wzrasta. Przedsiębiorstwa deklarują prowadzenie działalności zgodnie z zasadami CSR. Zaangażowanie przedsiębiorstw w społeczną odpowiedzialność staje się okazją do kształtowania wizerunku firmy. Społeczna odpowiedzialność przedsiębiorstwa wymaga pomiaru i oceny jej realizacji. Do tego służą systemy raportowania. W artykule omówiono wytyczne Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), które należą do podstawowych systemów raportowania CSR. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na zasady raportowania GRI w odniesieniu do zawartości i jakości raportu. (abstrakt oryginalny)
