Prof. Manuel Martinez received his Ph.D. in Genetics from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 2009. He has been an Associate Professor at the Technical University of Madrid since 2012. At present, he belongs to the UPM research group “Molecular plant–pest interactions”, working at the Centre for Plant Biotechnology and Genomics in Madrid. His research activity is focused on the following: (i) The molecular characterization of plant defense genes against pathogens and pests; (ii) the bioinformatics analysis of plant signaling networks and gene families; (iii) the relationships of proteases and their inhibitors with plant physiological processes.
