Prof. Isabel Diaz earned a Master’s degree in Biology (1982) and a PhD (1986) from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. From 1987 to 1989, she served as a postdoctoral fellow at the CEPSA Centro de Investigacion. In 1989, she moved to Universidad Politécnica de Madrid as a postdoctoral fellow until 1993. From 1993 to 2012, she worked as a Visitant Professor at the Centro de Biotecnología y Genómica de Plantas. Currently, she is a Full Professor at the Centro de Biotecnología y Genómica de Plantas. Her expertise and research interests include biotic stresses, molecular events in plant–pest interactions, plant perception and response to phytophagous insects and mites, and control of pests and pathogens.
