Information

Iztok Grabnar is Full Professor of Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Pharmacy. His research experience is in the field of pharmacometrics and focuses on the development of modelling and simulation methods for biomedical systems. He applies these methods to studies in the fields of biopharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics and clinical pharmacology. His main research interest is in nonlinear mixed effects modelling to better understand the variability of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics and to optimise pharmacotherapy in individual patients. Iztok Grabnar completed his PhD on the pharmacokinetics of intravesical instillation at the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia in 2000. He has been involved in numerous industrial projects and was Vice Dean for International Relations at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ljubljana (2015-2019), where he teaches pharmacokinetics and biostatistics. He has published around 100 articles in international journals and supervised 11 PhD students. He is the recipient of the University of Ljubljana Faculty of Pharmacy Award for a significant contribution to the reputation of the University of Ljubljana and the development of many young professionals (2019) and Slovenian Congress Ambassador (2023).
