WOOJIN CHOI was born in Seoul, Republic of Korea, in 1967. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Soongsil University, Seoul, Republic of Korea, in 1990 and 1995, respectively, and a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Texas A&M University, College Station, TX, USA, in 2004. He worked with Daewoo Heavy Industries as a Research Engineer, from 1995 to 1998. In 2005, he joined the School of Electrical Engineering, Soongsil University. His research interests include modeling and control of electrochemical energy sources (e.g., fuel cells, batteries and supercapacitors), power-conditioning technologies in renewable energy systems, and dc–dc converters for fuel cells and hybrid electric vehicles. He is an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications.
