Prof. Dr. Marcelo Tramontin Souza completed a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC/2014–2018). He also completed a master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering, with an emphasis on Ceramics, from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC/2012–2014). He graduated in Ceramic Engineering from Centro Universitário Barriga Verde (UNIBAVE/2007–2011). He worked in scientific research activities at the Department of Ceramic and Glass Engineering at the University of Aveiro (UA/Portugal) during his undergraduate (2010) and PhD (2017–2018). He held postdoctoral internships at UFSC (2018–2019) and at the Universidade do Extremo Sul Catarinense (UNESC/2020). He is currently an Adjunct Visiting Professor at the Postgraduate Program in Science, Innovation, and Modeling in Materials (PROCIMM) and the Civil Engineering course at the State University of Santa Cruz (UESC). As a researcher, he works in lines of investigation related to the characterization of industrial ores, glass–ceramic materials, the reuse of industrial waste, porous materials, biomaterials, and cements.
