Antonietta Lo Conte received in 1991 a MSc Degree in Nuclear Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and in 1995 received a PhD in Nuclear Engineering. From 1996-1998, she received from Ministry of University and Research a Study Grant Post for a research activity in Applied Mechanics at the Mechanical Engineering Department of Politecnico di Milano. In 1998, she became a researcher at the Industrial Engineering Faculty of Politecnico di Milano and became a senior researcher in the same faculty in 2002. Her field of activity includes numerical and experimental studies in the following topics: crashworthiness and fatigue design in railway vehicles, creep behavior and creep crack growth of nickel superalloy, fracture mechanics of magnesium alloy, internal damping of metals and composites materials, and design problems in mechanical structures and components. She is the author of 50 papers published on peer-reviewed international journals or presented at national and international conferences.
