The rapid advancement of internet technologies has dramatically increased the number of connected devices. This has created a huge attack surface that requires the deployment of effective and practical countermeasures to protect network infrastructures from the harm that cyber-attacks can cause. Hence, there is an absolute need to differentiate boundaries in personal information and cloud and fog computing globally and the adoption of specific information security policies and regulations. The goal of the security policy and framework for cloud and fog computing is to protect the end-users and their information, reduce task-based operations, aid in compliance, and create standards for expected user actions, all of which are based on the use of established rules for cloud computing. Moreover, intrusion detection systems are widely adopted solutions to monitor and analyze network traffic and detect anomalies that can help identify ongoing adversarial activities, trigger alerts, and automatically block traffic from hostile sources. This survey paper analyzes factors, including the application of technologies and techniques, which can enable the deployment of security policy on fog and cloud computing successfully. The paper focuses on a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and intrusion detection, which provides an effective and resilient system structure for users and organizations. Our survey aims to provide a framework for a cloud and fog computing security policy, while addressing the required security tools, policies, and services, particularly for cloud and fog environments for organizational adoption. While developing the essential linkage between requirements, legal aspects, analyzing techniques and systems to reduce intrusion detection, we recommend the strategies for cloud and fog computing security policies. The paper develops structured guidelines for ways in which organizations can adopt and audit the security of their systems as security is an essential component of their systems and presents an agile current state-of-the-art review of intrusion detection systems and their principles. Functionalities and techniques for developing these defense mechanisms are considered, along with concrete products utilized in operational systems. Finally, we discuss evaluation criteria and open-ended challenges in this area.

Customer churn is a significant concern, and the telecommunications industry has the largest annual churn rate of any major industry at over 30%. This study examines the use of ensemble learning models to analyze and forecast customer churn in the telecommunications business. Accurate churn forecasting is essential for successful client retention initiatives to combat regular customer churn. We used innovative and improved machine learning methods, including Decision Trees, Boosted Trees, and Random Forests, to enhance model interpretability and prediction accuracy. The models were trained and evaluated systematically by using a large dataset. The Random Forest model performed best, with 91.66% predictive accuracy, 82.2% precision, and 81.8% recall. Our results highlight how well the model can identify possible churners with the help of explainable AI (XAI) techniques, allowing for focused and timely intervention strategies. To improve the transparency of the decisions made by the classifier, this study also employs explainable artificial intelligence methods such as LIME and SHAP to illustrate the results of the customer churn prediction model. Our results demonstrate how crucial it is for customer relationship managers to implement strong analytical tools to reduce attrition and promote long-term economic viability in fiercely competitive marketplaces. This study indicates that ensemble learning models have strategic implications for improving consumer loyalty and organizational profitability in addition to confirming their performance.

The volatile and non-linear nature of stock market data, particularly in the post-pandemic era, poses significant challenges for accurate financial forecasting. To address these challenges, this research develops advanced deep learning and machine learning algorithms to predict financial trends, quantify risks, and forecast stock prices, focusing on the technology sector. Our study seeks to answer the following question: “Which deep learning and supervised machine learning algorithms are the most accurate and efficient in predicting economic trends and stock market prices, and under what conditions do they perform best?” We focus on two advanced recurrent neural network (RNN) models, long short-term memory (LSTM) and Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU), to evaluate their efficiency in predicting technology industry stock prices. Additionally, we integrate statistical methods such as autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) and Facebook Prophet and machine learning algorithms like Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) to enhance the robustness of our predictions. Unlike classical statistical algorithms, LSTM and GRU models can identify and retain important data sequences, enabling more accurate predictions. Our experimental results show that the GRU model outperforms the LSTM model in terms of prediction accuracy and training time across multiple metrics such as RMSE and MAE. This study offers crucial insights into the predictive capabilities of deep learning models and advanced machine learning techniques for financial forecasting, highlighting the potential of GRU and XGBoost for more accurate and efficient stock price prediction in the technology sector.

The aim of this research is to shed light on the complex interactions between player workload, traits, match-related factors, football performance, and injuries in the English Premier League. Using a range of statistical and machine learning techniques, this study analyzed a comprehensive dataset that included variables such as player workload, personal traits, and match statistics. The dataset comprises information on 532 players across 20 football clubs for the 2020–2021 English Premier League season. Key findings suggest that data, age, average minutes played per game, and club affiliations are significant indicators of both performance and injury incidence. The most effective model for predicting performance was Ridge Regression, whereas Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) was superior for predicting injuries. These insights are invaluable for data-driven decision-making in sports science and football teams, aiding in injury prevention and performance enhancement. The study’s methodology and results have broad applications, extending beyond football to impact other areas of sports analytics and contributing to a flexible framework designed to enhance individual performance and fitness.
