Many governments in developing countries are finding it challenging to integrate cloud computing into their e-government systems because of the limited effective identification and evaluation of important factors. Cloud computing usage in government organizations is still restricted due to concerns over security, regulatory challenges, cultural resistance to new technologies, infrastructure limitations, and other factors (Abied et al. in Sustainability 14:15590, 2022). This research suggests a model that analyses the factors influencing the adoption of cloud computing in e-government systems within Jordanian government organizations by decision-makers. The survey was distributed online to a purposive sample consisting of 373 IT professionals and top-level managers in government organizations in Jordan. The study demonstrates that the technological factors which include complexity, compatibility, relative advantage, and security, the organisational factors which consist of top management support and cost, and the environmental factors which include industry competition and government rules and regulations, had a significant and positive impact on the adoption of cloud-based services in government systems. Furthermore, IT knowledge held by decision makers was recognized as a key factor in the adoption of cloud computing for e-government systems. This research is anticipated to provide significant insights for any organizations making investment decisions about the use of cloud-based services. This research considers the assessment of multiple aspects to encourage top management to analyse the consequences of implementing cloud services for e-government systems. This case study might not be applied broadly to all types of organizations in Jordan. Future research should employ large-scale samples to ensure the study's representativeness and could also broaden the scope by including samples from similar countries to validate the model or its implementation across different cultures, IT infrastructure and geographical settings. In addition, it is recommended that upcoming research consider using the level of experience and education as moderators.

The fast development of the Internet has raised the number of government-related websites and the variety of e-services available. Despite tourism’s critical significance in supporting the national economy, relatively few researches have been conducted on the influence of tourism website quality dimensions on electronic loyalty among citizens (e-loyalty), particularly in the Jordanian domestic tourism context. The objective of this research is to identify the factors that impact the e-loyalty of citizens toward the e-government services offered by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities in Jordan, considering the mediating influence of citizens’ e-satisfaction and e-trust, primarily following Oliver’s (1999) e-loyalty model. The survey questionnaire was adopted as a main strategy to collect and analyze primary data and to investigate the relationships between variables. Statistical processing was applied using IBM SPSS version 22 package and Amos version 25 for path analysis as the main statistical software package. The results indicated that citizens’ e-loyalty toward the governmental tourism-related website in Jordan is moderate, demonstrating that citizens are generally comfortable with the e-services provided. Furthermore, the results suggest that e-satisfaction and e-trust both play a mediating role in the connection between dimensions of website quality (specifically, information quality and personalization) and the e-loyalty of citizens. This study contributes to the theory by combining the relationships among website quality dimensions, citizen e-trust, e-satisfaction, and e-loyalty, particularly in the unique setting of Jordan’s domestic tourism sector. The results provide valuable insights for policymakers and tourism sector managers, aiding them in the implementation of information and communication technology (ICT) strategies that facilitate citizens’ transactions and encourage them to participate effectively in e-government activities, thereby boosting the kingdom’s economy and gross domestic product (GDP). The government also recommended enhancing awareness programs and employee training in order to enhance the e-services offered to citizens.

Drawing from established models of technology acceptance, this study presents a comprehensive model that explores the influence of both Innovation-related and Citizen-related factors. Furthermore, it examines how trust in IoT technology moderates the relationship between innovation-related factors and intention to adopt smart home technologies (SHTs). Data were collected from 401 participants and analyzed using Smart PLS. The results revealed that citizen-related factors generally have a positive and significant influence on behavioral intention to adopt smart home technologies, with the exception of perceived security risk and service quality. On the other hand, innovation-related factors had a significant overall effect. Moreover, trust was found to moderate the relationship between citizen-related factors (such as compatibility and complexity) and the adoption of smart home technologies. This suggests that improving trust in (SHTs) providers and focusing on technological advancements are crucial for promoting acceptance of smart home technologies. To conclude, this research contributes to a deeper understanding of IoT acceptance among Jordanians, particularly regarding smart-home technologies. It provides insights for decision-makers to prioritize technological improvements and foster trust in service offerings, ultimately driving the adoption of SHTs in Jordan.

Digitalization is viewed as an important promoter of competitiveness, offering future avenues to new value and revenue opportunities. Nevertheless, the factors that determine the drivers of digital transformation (DT) adoption still need to be explored and understood further. Based on the RBV and institutional theory, this study examines the roles played by organizational culture, IT readiness, and customer demands of firms in the implementation of DT and the consequent improvement of operational performance. The results of a survey carried out among 226 manufacturing companies in Jordan indicate that these antecedent factors have a significant and positive effect on the adoption of DT and operational performance. The results also demonstrate that the implementation of DT enhances the operational performance of firms by increasing their efficiency and effectiveness. This research adds to the existing literature on digital transformation through an examination of the antecedents of its adoption. These findings are useful, as they assist firms in viewing digital transformation as an overarching opportunity that needs to be leveraged to improve their operational performance and competitiveness.
