Individuals exposed to elevated noise levels experience heightened emotional intensity, leading to increased cognitive disruption and a higher likelihood of accidents. This study seeks to investigate the impact of noise exposure on human cognitive performance, and the moderating role of emotion. Twelve healthy male college-age students underwent exposure to three noise conditions, each characterized by different sound pressure levels and sharpness. Each condition included an initial acoustic/thermal adaption period lasting approximately 40 min, followed by intermittent questionnaire tests and a battery of computerized cognitive tests. Statistical analysis revealed that reducing noise levels proved advantageous, enhancing perceived sound quality, positive emotions, and auditory perception abilities, while concurrently reducing false alerts and accelerating execution speed. Many of these effects were found to be counteracted by elevated sharpness. Correlation analyses and partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) results suggested that human emotions mediate the relationship between noise exposure and cognitive performance. The potential underlying mechanism suggests that negative feelings towards noise contribute to poor emotional states, subsequently influencing cognitive processes and impairing executive function. The outcomes of this study provide valuable insights into the mechanism of noise exposure and its effects on human cognition and subjective perceptions.

A regional integrated energy system (RIES), synergizing multiple energy forms, is pivotal for enhancing renewable energy use and mitigating the greenhouse effect. Considering that the equipment of the current regional comprehensive energy system is relatively simple, there is a coupling relationship linking power generation, refrigeration, and heating in the cogeneration system, which is complex and cannot directly meet various load demands. This article proposes a RIES optimization model for bottom-source heat pumps and hydrogen storage systems in the context of comprehensive demand response. First, P2G electric hydrogen production technology was introduced into RIES to give full play to the high efficiency advantages of hydrogen energy storage system, and the adjustable thermoelectric ratio of the HFC was considered. The HFC could adjust its own thermoelectric ratio according to the system load and unit output. Second, through the ground-source heat pump’s cleaning efficiency function, further separation and cooling could be achieved. The heat and electrical output of RIES improved the operating efficiency of the system. Thirdly, a comprehensive demand response model for heating, cooling, and electricity was established to enable users to reasonably adjust their own energy use strategies to promote the rational distribution of energy in the system. The model integrates power-to-gas (P2G) technology, leveraging the tunable thermoelectric ratio of a hydrogen fuel cell (HFC) to optimize the generation of electricity and heat while maximizing the efficiency of the hydrogen storage system. Empirical analysis substantiated the proposed RIES model’s effectiveness and economic benefits when integrating ground-source HP and electric hydrogen production with IDR. Compared with the original model, the daily operating cost of the proposed model was reduced by RMB 1884.16.

A robust level of self-awareness and self-acceptance is crucial for flight cadets. In this study, a total of 106 flight cadets from various grades and flight training sites were assessed using the self-awareness and self-acceptance scale. The scales were optimized through item analysis, reliability, and validity assessments. The finalized scales demonstrated an acceptable level of reliability and validity. Upon analyzing the collected data, it was observed that the overall self-awareness and -acceptance levels among the evaluated pilot students fell within the normal range. However, identifying positive symptoms directly proved challenging. The tested flight cadets exhibited moderate symptoms across each factor, with instances of severe symptoms in academic self-awareness. Notably, flight cadets trained abroad exhibited a lower level of self-awareness and -acceptance compared to those trained in China. But this phenomenon was not reflected in grade difference. Regression analysis revealed that physical and emotional self-awareness dimensions accounted for 62% of the variations in the psychological dimension, while passive self-acceptance explained 72% of the changes in active self-acceptance. Finally, in view of the issues found in the research, corresponding management measures and recommendations are presented to enhance the self-awareness and -acceptance levels of flight cadets.
