Jose Marques-Hueso received his PhD in 2011 with the Opto-electronic Materials Group at the Materials Institute of the University of Valencia, Spain. That year he joined Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh as a Research Associate, where he worked on applying photon-managing technologies to materials for solar cells. His research focussed on metallic nanocomposites and manufacturing as he began as Research Fellow in 2015. In 2017, he was appointed Assistant Professor within the Institute of Sensors, Signals and Sytems, and Associate Professor in 2021. He has published over 80 journal and conference papers, two book chapters, and an international patent. His research focus involves the use of photoluminescent and functional materials for manufacturing and optoelectronics.
