Dr. Beatrice Bălăceanu-Gurău, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist and PhD student at “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest. She trained in dermatology at Elias Emergency University Hospital, in Bucharest, Romania. Her international experience includes clinical fellowships and observerships at IRCCS Humanitas Research Hospital in Milan, Medical University of Vienna/AKH, LKH-University Hospital Graz, and Weill Cornell Medicine/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Her academic and research work focuses on inflammatory dermatoses, oncodermatology, skin microbiome, chronic wounds, non-invasive skin imaging, aesthetic medicine, ageing, and innovative vehicle formulations for skin diseases. She has authored peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on topics including atopic dermatitis, EGFR-inhibitor cutaneous adverse reactions, wound biofilms, skin aging, and oral mucosal melanoma imaging. She serves as Junior Editor for JEADV in the section “Ageing, environment, and aesthetic medicine” and as Topic Coordinator for Frontiers in Immunology. She is a member of the EADV Alumni Club and has received EADV fellowships, scholarships, grants, and multiple scientific presentation awards.
