I graduated in Chemical Engineering (1995) at the Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM, Brazil) and I concluded the doctorate degree (2003) at the Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar, Brazil) in Chemical Engineering (sandwich period at the CSIC-ICP, Madrid-Spain, under supervision of Dr. José M. Guisán. I did post-graduate in Chemical Engineering at the UEM and at the CSIC-ICP under supervision of Profs. Gisella M. Zanin and José M. Guisán, respectively. I work at the Department of Chemical Engineering of the UFSCar since September 2008, and since then I teach Thermodynamics to the Chemical Engineering, among other undergraduate subjects. Current research lines: immobilization, stabilization and application of enzymes, aiming to design “green” bioprocesses to produce biodiesel, biosurfactants, biolubricants, among others. Current interests: biocatalysts properly designed to cascade reactions, mixture of immobilized lipases and/or coimmobilized lipases with different specificity/selectivity, and modification of lipase surface post-immobilized on solid supports. We have evaluated the immobilization of enzymes on different activated supports (magnetic or non-magnetic) and by CLEA technique (crosslinked enzyme aggregates), and evaluated the performance of the biocatalysts in different reactors’ configurations.
