The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) play an essential role, emphasizing responsible resource use, production, and consumption, including waste management. In addition, SDG 3, 7, 11, 12, and 13 are directly/indirectly related to waste management. This study aims to determine a suitable waste-to-energy (WtE) technology in Chittagong City, Bangladesh, focusing on cleaner technology. Anaerobic digestion, gasification, incineration, and landfill gas (LFG) recovery were considered as possible alternatives. Technical, economic, environmental, and social issues have been considered as necessary criteria for evaluation. An analytical hierarchy process was applied to rank these technologies based on stakeholders’ perceptions. The study found that anaerobic digestion (AD) ranked first, receiving 38% of overall weight. The second preferred technology is LFG (27%). Gasification and incineration stood at third and fourth, respectively (21% and 14%). According to a sensitivity study, the decision is only sensitive to the economy. LFG will become the most favoured solution for WtE conversion if the economy prioritizes more than 38%. Subsequently, this study’s findings will help achieve Bangladesh’s SDG agenda.

The absorber layer of CZTS solar cell is a compound semiconductor which has favourable optical and electrical properties. Researchers are highly interest to investigate the CZTS solar cells for its earth abundant, non-toxic and low cost feature. Consequently, the absorber layer of CIGS is replaced to CZTS absorber layer. In this research work, the potentiality of Molybdenum Sulphide (MoS 2 ) as buffer has been investigated to explore the higher performance of CZTS solar cells. SCAPS 2802 simulator was used to evaluate the performance of CZTS solar cells with prospective MoS 2 buffer layer. The possibility of ultra-thin CZTS solar cells was examined and the higher efficiency of 17.03% (Jsc = 29.42 mA/cm 2 , Voc = 1.01 V and FF = 0.574) was achieved for 1 μm thickness of absorber layer. In addition, the proposed CZTS solar cells had better thermal stability at higher operating temperature also.

The focus of this project is to make the most efficient use of the energy received from the sun to power street lights in the city. Solar Panels mounted on the street lamps will collect the energy from the sun during day time, driving the LED lamps at night. The system we would be looking for designing includes operation in the main streets of some major cities of Bangladesh which is to be equipped with solar powered street lamps effective in regulating the amount of load voltage depending on the intensity of traffic present. The project is regarding the development and fabrication of the circuit that is able to charge the lead acid battery during day time by using solar energy as the source. The process would require the use of a microcontroller, namely PIC16F73, to control many of the circuit functionalities including switching, controlling driver circuit, and integrating sensor output etc. LED is the preferred lighting source in consideration with its photometric such as efficacy, life span, cost, efficiency and power consumption. Traffic detection will be done through the concept of integrating sensor using the IR Sensor.
