Paula Loureiro Paulo is an Associate Professor at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. She is the Leader of the CNPq research group "Resource-Focused Sanitation". She holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the State University of Maringá (1992), a Master's degree in Public Health Engineering from Leeds University (1997), a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences from Wageningen University and Research Centrum (2002), and a Post-Doctorate in Environmental Technologies from Wageningen University and Research Centrum (2003). She has experience in Sanitary and Environmental Engineering, with an emphasis on anaerobic digestion and resource-focused sanitation, working mainly on the following topics: natural treatment systems, treatment and reuse of domestic and agro-industrial effluents.
