The existing pavement performance prediction methods are limited to single‐factor predictions, which often face the challenges of high cost, low efficiency, and poor accuracy. It is difficult to simultaneously solve the temporal, spatial, and exogenous dependencies between pavement performance data and maintenance, the service life of highways, the environment, and other factors. Digital twin technology based on the building information modeling (BIM) model, combined with machine learning, puts forward a new perspective and method for the accurate and timely prediction of pavement performance. In this paper, we propose a highway tunnel pavement performance prediction approach based on a digital twin and multiple time series stacking (MTSS). This paper (1) establishes an MTSS prediction model with heterogeneous stacking of eXtreme gradient boosting (XGBoost), the artificial neural network (ANN), random forest (RF), ridge regression, and support vector regression (SVR) component learners after exploratory data analysis (EDA); (2) proposes a method based on multiple time series feature extraction to accurately predict the pavement performance change trend, using the highway segment as the minimum computing unit and considering multiple factors; (3) uses grid search with the k‐fold cross validation method to optimize hyperparameters to ensure the robustness, stability, and generalization ability of the prediction model; and (4) constructs a digital twin for pavement performance prediction to realize the real‐time dynamic evolution of prediction. The method proposed in this study is applied in the life cycle management of the Dalian highway‐crossing tunnel in Shanghai, China. A dataset covering 2010–2019 is collected for real‐time prediction of the pavement performance. The prediction accuracy evaluation shows that the mean absolute error (MAE) is 0.1314, the root mean squared error (RMSE) is 0.0386, the mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) is 5.10%, and the accuracy is 94.90%. Its overall performance is better than a single model. The results verify that the prediction method based on digital twin and MTSS is feasible and effective in the highway tunnel pavement performance prediction.

Urban roads face significant challenges from the unpredictable and destructive characteristics of natural or man-made disasters, emphasizing the importance of modeling and evaluating their resilience for emergency management. Resilience is the ability to recover from disruptions and is influenced by factors such as human behavior, road conditions, and the environment. However, current approaches to measuring resilience primarily focus on the functional attributes of road facilities, neglecting the vital feedback effects that occur during disasters. This study aims to model and evaluate road resilience under dynamic and uncertain emergency event scenarios. A new definition of road operational resilience is proposed based on the pressure-state-response theory, and the interaction mechanism between multidimensional factors and the stage characteristics of resilience is analyzed. A method for measuring road operational resilience using Dynamic Bayesian Networks (DBN) is proposed, and a hierarchical DBN structure is constructed based on domain knowledge to describe the influence relationship between resilience elements. The Best Worst method (BWM) and Dempster–Shafer evidence theory are used to determine the resilience status of network nodes in DBN parameter learning. A road operational resilience cube is constructed to visually integrate multidimensional and dynamic road resilience measurement results obtained from DBNs. The method proposed in this paper is applied to measure the operational resilience of roads during emergencies on the Shanghai expressway, achieving a 92.19% accuracy rate in predicting resilient nodes. Sensitivity analysis identifies scattered objects, casualties, and the availability of rescue resources as key factors affecting the rapidity of response disposal in road operations. These findings help managers better understand road resilience during emergencies and make informed decisions.

Background: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a chronic autoimmune disorder with an increasing prevalence in the general population. Internet-based communities have become vital for communication among patients with IBD, especially throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. However, these internet-based patient-to-patient communications remain largely underexplored. Objective: This study aims to analyze community posts from 3 of the largest IBD support groups on Reddit between March 1, 2020, and December 31, 2022, using a pretrained transformer model, and to validate the classification system’s results via comparison to human scoring. Methods: We collected posts (N=53,333) from subreddits r/CrohnsDisease, r/UlcerativeColitis, and r/IBD and classified them using OpenAI’s GPT-3.5 Turbo model to determine sentiment, categorize topics, and identify demographic information and mentions of the COVID-19 pandemic. A subset of posts (n=397) was manually scored to measure interrater agreement between human raters and the GPT-3.5 Turbo model. Results: Fleiss κ and Gwet AC1 coefficients indicated a high level of agreement between raters, with values ranging from 0.53 to 0.91. The raters demonstrated almost perfect agreement on the classification of gender, with a Fleiss κ of 0.91 (P<.001). Medications (14,909/53,333) and symptoms (14,939/53,333) emerged as the most discussed topics, and most posts conveyed a neutral sentiment. While most users did not disclose their age, those who did primarily belonged to the 20-29 years (2392/4828) and 30-39 years (859/4828) age groups. Based on self-reported gender, we identified 1509 men and 1502 women among our IBD Reddit users. When comparing the users on the IBD subreddits to the general IBD population, there was a significant difference in gender distribution (N=3,090,011; χ22=69.53; P<.001; φ<0.001). After an initial spike in posts within the first month, most posts did not reference the COVID-19 pandemic. Conclusions: Our study showcases the potential of generative pretrained transformer models in processing and extracting insights from medical social media data. Future research can benefit from further subanalyses of our validated dataset or use OpenAI’s model to analyze social media data for other conditions, particularly those for which patient experiences are challenging to collect.

Issuing restatements undermines market value and management reputation. Using an experiment, this study examines whether corporate social responsibility (CSR) disclosure can repair the damaged reputation following a restatement. Two aspects of CSR information are considered—presence of CSR disclosure and source of CSR disclosure. The results show that disclosing positive CSR activities is an effective way to repair management reputation and enhance investment interest. Also, there is an incremental benefit if investors receive CSR information from an independent source. This study contributes to the limited literature on the effectiveness of corrective actions after a restatement by demonstrating that individual investors’ judgments and decisions after a prominent trust-damaging event, i.e., financial restatement, are affected by both the presence and the source of CSR information. This study contributes to the literature by providing direct, experimental evidence in accounting on CSR disclosure as a reputation-restoring mechanism after a restatement.
