Dr. Žiga Emeršič graduated from the Faculty of Computer and Information Science, University of Ljubljana, where he also holds a position of assistant professor. His research interests include deep learning and biometrics which intersect with his teaching areas. He has co-authored more than 40 research papers and received multiple awards for teaching and research, including the European Association for Biometrics Award Max Snijder 2021. He co-organized three ear recognition competitions: The Unconstrained Ear Recognition Challenges 2017, 2019, and 2023.
