Object detection is an important process in surveillance system to locate objects and it is considered as major application in computer vision. The Convolution Neural Network (CNN) based models have been developed by many researchers for object detection to achieve higher performance. However, existing models have some limitations such as overfitting problem and lower efficiency in small object detection. Object detection in remote sensing hasthe limitations of low efficiency in detecting small object and the existing methods have poor localization. Cascade Object Detection methods have been applied to increase the learning process of the detection model. In this research, the Additive Activation Function (AAF) is applied in a Faster Region based CNN (RCNN) for object detection. The proposed AAF-Faster RCNN method has the advantage of better convergence and clear bounding variance. The Fourier Series and Linear Combination of activation function are used to update the loss function. The Microsoft (MS) COCO datasets and Pascal VOC 2007/2012 are used to evaluate the performance of the AAF-Faster RCNN model. The proposed AAF-Faster RCNN is also analyzed for small object detection in the benchmark dataset. The analysis shows that the proposed AAF-Faster RCNN model has higher efficiency than state-of-art Pay Attention to Them (PAT) model in object detection. To evaluate the performance of AAF-Faster RCNN method of object detection in remote sensing, the NWPU VHR-10 remote sensing data set is used to test the proposed method. The AAF-Faster RCNN model has mean Average Precision (mAP) of 83.1% and existing PAT-SSD512 method has the 81.7%mAP in Pascal VOC 2007 dataset.
Recently, Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is one of the common neurodegenerative disorders, which primarily occurs in old age. Structural magnetic resonance imaging (sMRI) is an effective imaging technique used in clinical practice for determining the period of AD patients. An efficient deep learning framework is proposed in this paper for AD detection, which is inspired from clinical practice. The proposed deep learning framework significantly enhances the performance of AD classification by requiring less processing time. Initially, in the proposed framework, the sMRI images are acquired from a real-time dataset and two online datasets including Australian Imaging, Biomarker and Lifestyle flagship work of ageing (AIBL), and Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI). Next, a fuzzy-based superpixel-clustering algorithm is introduced to segment the region of interest (RoI) in sMRI images. Then, the informative deep features are extracted in segmented RoI images by integrating the probabilistic local ternary pattern (PLTP), ResNet-50, and Visual Geometry Group (VGG)-16. Furthermore, the dimensionality reduction is accomplished by through the modified gorilla troops optimizer (MGTO). This process not only enhances the classification performance but also diminishes the processing time of the capsule network (CapsNet), which is employed to classify the classes of AD. In the MGTO algorithm, a quasi-reflection-based learning (QRBL) process is introduced for generating silverback’s quasi-refraction position for further improving the optimal position’s quality. The proposed fuzzy based superpixel-clustering algorithm and MGTO-CapsNet model obtained a pixel accuracy of 0.96, 0.94, and 0.98 and a classification accuracy of 99.88%, 96.38%, and 99.94% on the ADNI, real-time, and AIBL datasets, respectively.
Task scheduling is an emerging challenge in cloud platforms and is considered a critical application utilized by the cloud service providers and end users. The main challenge faced by the task scheduler is to identify the optimal resources for the input task. In this research, a Sine Cosine-based Elephant Herding Optimization (SCEHO) algorithm is incorporated with the Improved Particle Swarm Optimization (IPSO) algorithm for enhancing the task scheduling behavior by utilizing parameters like load balancing and resource allocation. The conventional EHO and PSO algorithms are improved utilizing a sine cosine-based clan-updating operator and human group optimizer that improve the algorithm’s exploration and exploitation abilities and avoid being trapped in the local optima problem. The efficacy of the SCEHO-IPSO algorithm is analyzed by using performance measures like cost, execution time, makespan, latency, and memory storage. The numerical investigation indicates that the SCEHO-IPSO algorithm has a minimum memory storage of 309 kb, a latency of 1510 ms, and an execution time of 612 ms on the Kafka platform, and the obtained results reveal that the SCEHO-IPSO algorithm outperformed other conventional optimization algorithms. The SCEHO-IPSO algorithm converges faster than the other algorithms in the large search spaces, and it is appropriate for large scheduling issues.
Background/Objective: Sleep is significant for human mental and physical health. Sleep disorders represent a crucial risk to human health, and a large portion of the world population suffers from them. The efficient identification of sleep disorders is significant for effective treatment. However, the precise and automatic detection of sleep disorders remains challenging due to the inter-subject variability, overlapping symptoms, and reliance on single-modality physiological signals. Methods: To address these challenges, a Neurophysiological Residual Gated Attention Multimodal Transformer Encoder (NRGAMTE) model was developed for robust sleep disorder detection using multimodal physiological signals, including Electroencephalogram (EEG), Electromyogram (EMG), and Electrooculogram (EOG). Initially, raw signals are segmented into 30-s windows and processed to capture the significant time- and frequency-domain features. Every modality is independently embedded by a One-Dimensional Convolutional Neural Network (1D-CNN), which preserves signal-specific characteristics. A Modality-wise Residual Gated Cross-Attention Fusion (MRGCAF) mechanism is introduced to select significant cross-modal interactions, while the learnable residual path ensures that the most relevant features are retained during the gating process. Results: The developed NRGAMTE model achieved an accuracy of 94.51% on the Sleep-EDF expanded dataset and 99.64% on the Cyclic Alternating Pattern (CAP Sleep database), significantly outperforming the existing single- and multimodal algorithms in terms of robustness and computational efficiency. Conclusions: The results shows that NRGAMTE obtains high performance across multiple datasets, significantly improving detection accuracy. This demonstrated their potential as a reliable tool for clinical sleep disorder detection.

Recent transmission of large volumes of data through mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) has resulted in degraded Quality of Service (QoS) due to factors such as packet loss, delay, and packet drop in multipath routing. To address this issue, a traffic-aware Enhanced QoS-Aware Multipath Routing Protocol (EQMRP) has been proposed for real-time IoT applications in MANETs. EQMRP efficiently switches between multiple paths and monitors traffic conditions to maintain an optimal data transmission rate. The proposed method considers different delay sensitivity levels and link expiration time (LTE) to maintain QoS in each path. Through IoT application data analysis, EQMRP maintains QoS in each path more efficiently than conventional methods. The proposed method has been simulated and validated using MATLAB, and the performance analysis shows that EQMRP achieves a higher packet delivery ratio, lower delay, and reduced packet drop compared to conventional methods. In conclusion, the traffic-aware EQMRP protocol offers a significant improvement in QoS for real-time IoT applications in MANETs.
