Smoking is a social trend that is prevalent around the world, particularly in places of learning and at some significant events. The World Health Organization defines smoking as the most important preventable cause of disease and the third major cause of death in humans. In order to analyze this matter, this study typically emphasizes analyzing the dynamics of the fractional order quitting smoking model via the Caputo-Fabrizio differential operator. For the numerical solution of the considered model, the Laplace transform with the Adomian decomposition method (LADM) and Homotopy perturbation method (HPM) is applied, and the comparison of both the achieved numerical solutions is presented. Moreover, numerical simulation for the suggested scheme has been presented in various fractional orders with the aid of Matlab and the numerical results are supported by illustrative graphics. The simulation reveals the aptness of the considered model.

In this manuscript, we consider a fractional mathematical model, which describes the dynamics of infectious disease, under the non-singular Mittag–Leffler derivative. The model under consideration is the extension of the SIRV model, where the infectious class has been divided into two compartments, namely the acute and chronically infectious individuals. First, we obtain the possible equilibrium states of the given model. With the help of the next generation matrix approach, the reproduction number has been calculated for the system to find conditions on the spread or control of the disease. Additionally, a new concept of strength number and analysis of the second derivative of the Lyapunov function has been used for the detection of waves. We investigate the said problem for qualitative analysis and determine at least one solution by applying the approach of fixed point theory. For approximate solution, the technique of iterative fractional-order Adams–Bashforth scheme has been used. Numerical simulation for the proposed scheme has been performed at various fractional-order lying between 0, 1 and for integer-order 1. All the compartments show convergency and stability with growing time. A good comparative result has been given by different fractional orders and achieves stability faster at the low fractional orders.

Water pollution is a critical global concern that demands ongoing scrutiny and revision of water resource policies at all levels to safeguard a healthy living environment. In this study, we focus on examining the dynamics of a fractional-order model involving three interconnected lakes, utilizing the Caputo differential operator. The aim is to investigate the issue of lake pollution by analyzing a system of linear equations that represent the interconnecting waterways. To numerically solve the model, we employ two methods: The Laplace transform with the Adomian decomposition method (LADM) and the Homotopy perturbation method (HPM). We compare the obtained numerical solutions from both methods and present the results. The study encompasses three variations of the model: the periodic input model, the exponentially decaying input model, and the linear input model. MATLAB is employed to conduct numerical simulations for the proposed scheme, considering various fractional orders. The numerical results are further supported by informative graphical illustrations. Through simulation, we validate the suitability of the proposed model for addressing the issue at hand. The outcomes of this research contribute to the understanding and management of water pollution, aiding policymakers and researchers in formulating effective strategies for maintaining water quality and protecting our environment.

Over the course of history global population has witnessed deterioration of unprecedented scale caused by infectious transmission. The necessity to mitigate the infectious flow requires the launch of a well-directed and inclusive set of efforts. Motivated by the urge for continuous improvement in existing schemes, this article aims at the encapsulation of the dynamics of the spread of infectious diseases. The objectives are served by the launch of the infectious disease model. Moreover, an optimal control strategy is introduced to ensure the incorporation of the most feasible health interventions to reduce the number of infected individuals. The outcomes of the research are facilitated by stratifying the population into five compartments that are susceptible class, acute infected class, chronic infected class, recovered class, and vaccinated class. The optimal control strategy is formulated by incorporating specific control variables namely, awareness about medication, isolation, ventilation, vaccination rates, and quarantine level. The developed model is validated by proving the pivotal delicacies such as positivity, invariant region, reproduction number, stability, and sensitivity analysis. The legitimacy of the proposed model is delineated through the detailed sensitivity analysis along with the documentation of local and global features in a comprehensive manner. The maximum sensitivity index parameters are disease transmission and people moved from acute stages into chronic stages whose value is (0.439, 1) increase in parameter by 10 percent would increase the threshold quantity by (4.39, 1). Under the condition of a stable system, we witnessed an inverse relationship between susceptible class and time. Moreover, to assist the gain of the fundamental aim of this research, we take the control variables as time-dependent and obtain the optimal control strategy to minimize infected populations and to maximize the recovered population, simultaneously. The objectives are attained by the employment of the Pontryagin maximum principle. Furthermore, the efficacy of the usual health interventions such as quarantine, face mask usage, and hand sanitation are also noticed. The effectiveness of the suggested control plan is explained by using numerical evaluation. The advantages of the new strategy are highlighted in the article.

Fullerene is a cage-like carbon allotrope admitting a vast range of applications. Some of the important fullerenes are C54,C58,C60,C70,C74,C76,C78,C80C82,C84,C86,C90. The physical properties of fullerenes can be exhibited using the degree-based topological indices. The sum based geometric arithmetic index is significant in this manner. The sum based atomic bond connectivity, Randic, first and second Zagreb indices are well known topological indices. We have determined the regression relation between each of these indices and the sum based geometric arithmetic index. Moreover, the correlation coefficient is also calculated. Correlation is a symmetric relation, as it provides association between two variables. On the basis of regression analysis and correlation coefficient, it was found that each of this index is strongly related to the sum based geometric arithmetic index. Moreover, we have computed the regression relations concerning the physical properties depending on the sum based geometric arithmetic index. The physical properties include binding energies, Ramsauer-Townsend minima, shape resonances and heat of formation of fullerene molecules. It was concluded that the sum based GA index is the best in presenting the heat of the formation of molecules.

The solution fields of the elliptic boundary value problems may exhibit singularities near the corners, edges, crack tips, and so forth of the physical domain. The corner singularity theory for the solutions of elliptic boundary value problems on domains with corners or edges has been well established in the past century and also in recent years. The corner singularity functions provide an appropriate mathematical structure to understand the physical trajectories of the fluid particles. It has been investigated for general elliptic boundary value problems and also extended to some non-elliptic problems. Currently, the theory has been constructed for compressible viscous Stokes and NavierStokes systems on polygonal and polyhedral domains to analyze the structure of the solution near the corners and edges. Several interesting results about the regularity of the solution cannot be extended if one of the following situations appears: The domain has corners, edges and cusp, etc. On the boundary, change of boundary conditions at some points, discontinuities of the solutions, and singularities of the coefficients. This article reviewed the structure of the solution and regularity results of the stationary Stokes and Navier-Stokes equations on polygonal domains with convex or non-convex corners.
