Dr. German Gemar

German Gemar is a professor of economics and business administration at the University of Malaga, Spain, in the Department of Economics and Business Administration. He has a PhD in Business Administration from the University of Malaga. His research has focused on strategic management, corporate profitability, business, firm survival, tourism, hotels, hospitality, the environment, corporate social responsibility, marketing and cultural distance. He also has managed hotels for 15 years and worked as the general manager of the Malaga Provincial Council, with responsibilities covering the areas of, among others, tourism, environment protection, sustainability, waste management and management of wastewater treatment plants. He also worked as manager of the company responsible for the collection and treatment of waste from 91 municipalities in the province of Malaga.
