Dr. Nuwan Gunarathne

After years of teaching, consulting and research, Nuwan serves as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Accounting, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka. He is also a member of both the Chartered Institute of Management Accounting (UK) and the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka. His research interests include environmental management accounting, sustainability reporting, waste management, green consumer behavior, and accounting education. Nuwan spearheaded the launch of ‘Environmental Management Accounting (EMA) Guidelines for Sri Lankan Enterprises’ in 2014 with the Institute of Certified Management Accountants. He is also a committee member of the Environmental and Sustainability Management Accounting Network (EMAN) Asia Pacific (AP) and country representative of the Sri Lanka Chapter of EMAN-AP.
