This research presents a numerical investigation of the flow field and heat transfer of a Visco-plastic fluid, The Bingham-Papanastasiou model is used to examine the flow field and forced convection heat transfer of a Viscoplastic fluid between two concentric cylinders with a wavy inner surface. By focusing on this particular configuration (wavy inner cylinder shape), where the inner surface exhibits as the hot wall while the outer surface is considered as the cold wall. This investigation is numerically achieved by using the Comsol Multiphysics, which is based on the finite‐volume method, employing Galerkin’s method for solving the governing equations. The parameters studied in this research are expressed with the following values: r/ R=1/3, Reynolds number (Re=1, 10, 50), and undulation number (nu=0, 6, 12, 24). Increasing the inertia parameter results in a higher intensity of thermal buoyancy, positively influencing heat transfer, particularly at Re=50. Furthermore, the acceleration of flow within the investi-gated space improves the hydrodynamic behavior, facilitating the exchange of thermal energy between the hot and cold walls. Additionally, it has been discovered that an undulating shape with a specific number of undulations (nu=6) maximizes hydrothermal performance within the investigated volume. The presence of these undulations enhances fluid mixing and dis-rupts the formation of stagnant regions ,which leading to improved heat transfer.
Several industrial fields require mixing and mechanical agitation processes. This operation is mainly used to enhance heat and mass transfer inside stirred tank systems and improve the degree of homogeneity to obtain a high-quality final product. The main goal of this research paper is to analyze the thermal and hydrodynamic behavior of non-Newtonian nanofluid (Bingham–Papanastasiou–Al2O3) inside a symmetrically stirred tank. A 3D numerical study has been conducted for a stationary laminar flow inside a symmetric cylindrical vessel under influencing parameters, including the inertia parameter () and the volume fraction of nanoparticles () with different geometric configurations, has been introduced into the stirring system. According to the findings, with high inertia (), the heat transfer inside the stirred tank is enhanced. Furthermore, increasing the nanoparticle fraction volume had a significant impact on the acceleration of heat transfer along the stirred vessel. It has been also found that the geometric configuration of an anchor with added arm blade (Case 2) is more efficient compared with the rest of the anchor agitator.

Natural convection in a steady state of incompressible air inside a cavity’s porous with a heated low wall of a sinusoidal profile is investigated numerically in this paper. The upper horizontal wall is kept cold while the two sides are thermally insulated. The proposed physical model was developed and studied with two-dimensional conditions, using the finite element method and adapting the Darcy-Brinkman model. This paper examines the laminar natural convection in a square porous cavity for different Rayleigh numbers (10 ≤ Ra ≤ 104), aspect ratios (0.25 ≤ AR ≤ 1.0), and sinusoidal temperature amplitude (0.25 ≤ λ ≤ 1.0). Moreover, the variation effect of Ra, AR, and λ on isotherms, streamlines, and the mean and local Nusselt numbers has been presented and analyzed. The results showed that an increase in the sinusoidal thermal amplitude, mean Nusselt number, and AR reduced somewhat the Rayleigh number. This provided a solution in which the mean Nusselt number increased by increasing the sinusoidal thermal amplitude and the Rayleigh number. On the other hand, it decreases slightly by increasing the AR. In addition, the convection transfer mechanism is the main mode when the Rayleigh number is high. Thus, it was found that the Darcy number also has an effect on heat transmission. The obtained results were compared with those found in the literature and were found to be in good accordance.
This work presents a study by numerical simulation of mixed convection in a rectangular cavity with a sinusoidal temperature imposed on the right vertical wall while the other wall on the left is kept at a cold temperature. The upper and lower walls are thermally insulated, the inlet and outlet ports are respectively located on the hot wall to the bottom and on the top to the left. The enclosure represents a practical system such as an air-cooled electronic device, the heat source represents a radiator or an electronic component located in three different positions towards the left side at the bottom, the center and towards the right side at the top in such an enclosure. All calculations are made for a range of Richardson number from 0 to 10 and Reynolds numbers from 50 to 200. The influence of Richardson number, the position of the heat source and the influence of amplitude and phase deviation of the temperature imposed on the Nusselt number on the hot surface is studied. The results are presented in the form of streamlines and isotherms graphs as well as the variation in maximum temperature and mean Nusselt number under different conditions. The numerical resolution of the governing equations is obtained using the software of Multiphysics Comsol based on the finite element method.

This work focuses on a numerical study of the natural convection of a non-Newtonian viscoplastic fluid within a cubic enclosure. The viscoplastic behavior is described by the Bingham model. The considered three-dimensional convective flow is confined within a cavity, subjected to a horizontal temperature gradient, where the vertical walls have two imposed temperatures while the rest of the walls are adiabatic. The Navier-Stokes equations, along with the mass and energy conservation equations, are numerically solved. Fluid flow and heat transfer characteristics are systematically studied over a wide range of Rayleigh numbers Ra (103 - 106) and Bingham number Bn (0 - 20). Finally, comparisons were made with previous results obtained in two dimensions in order to analyze the existence of a three-dimensional effect on the flow of the Bingham fluid. The results show that the Nusselt number decreases with the increase of the Bingham number, and for the large values of the latter the heat transfer is done by conduction. It is also noteworthy that the critical Bn of the 2D model is higher than that of the 3D model, which confirms the existence of the three-dimensional effect. This is attributed to the presence of a wall along the Z axis which hinders and limits the flow of fluid within the enclosure.
