This letter investigates the problem of anti-jamming communications in dynamic and intelligent jamming environment through machine learning. Different from existing studies which need to know (estimate) the jamming patterns and parameters, we use the temporal and spectral information, i.e., the spectrum waterfall, directly. Firstly, to cope with the challenge of infinite state of spectrum waterfall, a recursive convolutional neural network is designed. Then, an anti-jamming deep reinforcement learning algorithm is proposed to obtain the optimal antijamming strategies. Finally, simulation results validate the the proposed approach. The proposed algorithm does not need to model the jamming patterns, and naturally has the ability to explore the unknown environment, which implies that it can be widely used for combating dynamic and intelligent jamming.

Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-satellite communication has drawn dramatic attention for its potential to build the integrated space-air-ground network and the seamless widearea coverage. A key challenge to UAV-satellite communication is its unstable beam pointing due to the UAV navigation, which is a typical SatCom on-the-move scenario. In this paper, we propose a blind beam tracking approach for Ka-band UAVsatellite communication system, where UAV is equipped with a hybrid large-scale antenna array. The effects of UAV navigation are firstly released through the mechanical adjustment, which could approximately point the beam towards the target satellite through beam stabilization and dynamic isolation. Specially, the attitude information for mechanical adjustment can be realtimely derived from data fusion of low-cost sensors. Then, the precision of beam pointing is blindly refined through electrically adjusting the weight of the massive antennas, where an array structure based simultaneous perturbation algorithm is designed. Simulation results are provided to demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method over the existing ones.

Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) is a promising technology in the next generation network, which provides computing services for user equipments (UEs) to reduce the task delay and prolong the usage time of UEs. To address the deficiency of poor channel quality caused by multipath and blockages in traditional MEC networks, a multiple input single output (MISO) UAV-assisted MEC network is studied. A system energy consumption minimization problem is formulated by jointly optimizing the the UAV’s beamforming vectors, the UAV’s central processing unit (CPU) frequency, the UAV’s trajectory, the UEs’ transmission power and the UEs’ CPU frequency subject to the constraints on the task, the UAV’s trajectory, and the UEs’ computation tasks. A three-stage iterative algorithm is proposed to solve the challenging non-convex problem. The closed-form expressions for the optimal UAV CPU frequency and the transmission power of UEs are derived. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm is superior to the benchmark schemes in terms of energy consumption, and the convergence performance is guaranteed.

Coalition structure is an efficient networking architecture for task implementation in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) networks. However, both the formation of coalition and the spectrum resource for intra-coalition communication affect the reconnaissance performance. In this paper, we investigate a cooperative reconnaissance and spectrum access (CRSA) scheme for task-driven heterogeneous coalition-based UAV networks by jointly optimizing task layer and resource layer. Specifically, coalition formation game (CFG) is formulated to jointly optimize task selection and bandwidth allocation. In addition to the traditional Pareto order and selfish order, coalition expected altruistic order maximizing coalitions' utility is proposed. The CFG under the proposed order is proved to be an exact potential game (EPG). Then the existence of stable coalition partition is guaranteed with the help of Nash equilibrium (NE). We propose a joint bandwidth allocation and coalition formation (JBACF) algorithm to achieve stable coalition partition wherein an efficient gradient projection (GP) based method is applied to solve bandwidth allocation. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme and algorithms are demonstrated through in-depth numerical simulations. The results show that our proposed CRSA scheme is superior to non-joint optimization scheme. Also, the proposed order is superior to traditional Pareto order and selfish order.

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have been widely used in both military and civilian applications, where a stable communication link is vital for safe flight control and robust data transmission. To develop a reliable UAV communication system, it is necessary to deeply understand the UAV channel characteristics and establish accurate channel models. Channel sounding is the most effective way to obtain realistic channel characteristics and validate the theoretical channel model. However, the studies on UAV channel sounding are still insufficient in terms of system design and data processing due to the complexity of developing a UAV channel sounder. Different from the terrestrial channel sounders, the implementation of a UAV channel sounder is tortured by the limited battery life and payload capacity of the UAV platform. The sounding scheme and data post-processing also need to be specially designed for highly dynamic UAV channels. So far, most existing survey studies on UAV channels focus on modeling methodology and model presentation. To fill this gap, this paper provides a comprehensive survey on the design of the UAV channel sounder, in terms of the hardware scheme, sounding signal, time synchronization, calibration, and data post-processing. Current issues and potential research topics behind existing sounding technologies and measurement campaigns are analyzed. Moreover, future challenges and open issues are also discussed.

In this paper, we propose an adaptive semantic resource allocation paradigm with semantic-bit quantization (SBQ) compatible with existing wireless communications, where the inaccurate environment perception introduced by the additional mapping relationship between semantic metrics and transmission metrics is solved. Specifically, SBQ is a hybrid uniform-non-uniform quantization method, which aims to facilitate the coding between semantics and bits. In order to investigate the performance of semantic communication networks, the quality of service for semantic communication (SC-QoS), including the semantic quantization efficiency (SQE) and transmission latency, is proposed for the first time. A problem of maximizing the overall effective SC-QoS is formulated by jointly optimizing the transmit beamforming of the base station, the bits for semantic representation, the subchannel assignment, and the bandwidth resource allocation. To address the non-convex formulated problem, an intelligent resource allocation scheme is proposed based on a hybrid deep reinforcement learning (DRL) algorithm, where the intelligent agent can perceive both semantic tasks and dynamic wireless environments. Simulation results demonstrate that our design can effectively combat semantic noise and achieve superior performance in wireless communications compared to several benchmark schemes. Furthermore, compared to mapping-guided paradigm based resource allocation schemes, our proposed adaptive scheme can achieve up to 13% performance improvement in terms of SC-QoS.
